We were the best of friends. I looked forward to sitting next to you in every class and beating you at cards, texting after school, visiting you for a few minutes on my way home from work, and going home to skype with you till we fell asleep only to repeat that pattern the next day. Then, the day came and we had a serious talk we had avoided for what felt like years too long. You told me how you actually felt about me, every ounce of me had hoped, wished, and dreamed that this moment would happen. It was surreal. Prior to this conversation, you’d completely deny the possibility of even being with me, you even told me you see me as a brother, and nothing more because it would be weird. But honestly, even then, you were a huge part of my life, and I never wanted things to be any different.
